Prologue to a non existant Book

Wrote this in creative writing, which in truth is not creative at all at my school. Thats a rant for a different time. Anyway....Here it is.

The night was blacker than a smokers lungs. Colder than the heart of a villain. And just as remorseless. A crisp breeze blew through the abandoned streets. Carrying his breathe away. And with it, the first brown leaves of autumn. The silence was ringing in his ears, enveloping him. If he didn't know better, he would believe he was the only human left in the abandoned metropolis. The crunch of a foot demolishing a leaf echoed, forlornly across the darkness. He stopped, fear clutched his heart. It overrode his brain with its dark tendrils of influence. With his new found fear came alertness. A responding crunch sounded in the distance. His muscles tensed, waiting to strike. He braced himself for the impending conflict. Seconds dripped by slowly in his dismal paranoia. After what seemed like years, he relaxed his muscles, and preceded to his destination. It was an echo, it had to be. He repeated that mantra in his mind, locked into the insanity that is fear, so busy soothing his mind, he failed to hear the stealthy footfalls his silent assailant.

Freedom of Action

A bird flies elegantly through the sky.

Shot down in the name of fun.

It had no where to run.

Its time on earth is done.

I watch the rising of the sun.

Breathe in a gust of air.

Life just ain't fair.

They throw the switch on the electric chair.

Who dare defies the government?

Me.

I'm here.

Heaven sent.

An instrument, clearer of minds.

Convicted of thought crime.

Defilers to the constitution.

I defy the mind set of the population.

Producer of revelations, met with apprehension.

Some crave attention, I crave redemption.

Redeem my country where I reside.

Please god tell me why, is there still genocide?

Thousands of homicides.

Government funded suicide.

Fear in the eyes of the masses.

Empty are the hourglasses.

Life goes on, while time passes.

Untitled

Don't fear.

Prepare for the hurt.

The sun collides with the earth.

Humans lose their worth.

People just don't understand the words that flow from my pen because their brains within just can't comprehend.

Do they even try?

Just waiting to die.

Don't cry.

Don't ask why.

Just try, say the word, save the world.

Vietnam

In the jungles of Vietnam we wage war.

Is this a cause worth dying for?

Sit and reminisce on my past.

Like a ghost trying to see through a looking glass.

Visualize my dreams.

Think about all the things that mean something to me.

Rain bombards my helicopter.

No room for me to falter.

I watch my bullets obliterate the north Vietnamese.

Every bullet fired makes my heart freeze.

Stains my brain.

Ice covers my veins.

Sudden explosion.

My body is frozen.

Ears ringing.

Its burning.

Must be more than 100 degrees.

The helicopter spirals towards the trees.

Boom.

Crash land.

American man.

Falling, right into the enemies hand.

I feel the warmth from the metal debris.

It's hard to breathe.

The world spins before me.

Gunshots all around.

Got to get off the ground.

I stand.

Gun in my hand.

Determination on my face.

Gleam in my eye

Ready and willing to die.

Bullets pierce flesh.

I feel no pain.

I see men catching bullets right through their brains.

Black smoke fills the air.

Enters my lungs.

My job is done.

The fat lady has sung.

I fall to the ground.

Explosions all around.

I see men die.

Erased from the earth.

As I breathe my last breath.

Death dulls my eyes.

Look down.

I can see my own intestines.

Dying in this jungle so alive with bad intentions.

America

It divides the Pacific from the Atlantic.

I see Ignorance, and Corruption.

I hear lies told by kings of deception.

I taste genetically mutated meals.

The teachings of Socrates flow through my mind.

"The highest form of human excellence is to question oneself and others."

The sounds of bombs fill the air.

Children.

Women.

Men.

Corpses fill the streets.

Why?

Two towers fell crumbling to the earth.

Taking thousands of lives.

More corpses.

Who could do such a thing?

Terrorists.

Why?

They are jealous of our freedom.

The Fallacies were absorbed by the masses.

Red.

White.

Blue.

As far as i can see.

Blinded by fear.

Blinded to the truth.

It's to late now.

Let the new world order begin.

I ask myself why.

Do they have to lie?

As I sit filled with rage.

Wanting to cry.

I sit and I watch as my country dies.
